Friendships

What are they? What do they mean to different people? Seems I have been lacking in the "friend" department lately so I decided to surf around on the net and find out what friendships mean to other people. Maybe I am just expecting too much?

"Insert taken from iloveindia.com"
"What is a friend? True friendship is perhaps the only relation that survives the trials and tribulations of time and remains unconditional. A unique blend of affection, loyalty, love, respect, trust and loads of fun is perhaps what describes the true meaning of friendship. Similar interests, mutual respect and strong attachment with each other are what friends share between each other. These are just the general traits of a friendship. To experience what is friendship, one must have true friends, who are indeed rare treasure."

Yes, Indeed, I have found a true friend is a rare treasure - one that most of us will never behold. Not because of you as a person but because of the selfishness of the ones we choose to be our friends. Some people have no regard for compassion or trust. They are the ones who use the world as their toy and they will play your friendship like a chess game, planning the moves to their benefit and when they are done or you have served your purpose in their game, you are placed into "check" and before you know it, you have been removed from the game. How does one avoid these types of friendships and the disappointment that comes with one? YOU CANT. That is what totally sux about the whole situation. You are left, used and unwanted. Searching for the meaning of friendship has always been a burning question. However as soon as we meet our friends all these questions get answered automatically.
